What we continue to do

The Family Movie Trust Fund serves many people living under the poverty line who can not afford to take their families to a big chain theater and look to us to provide them a first-rate cinema experience at an affordable cost. We issue hundreds of complimentary tickets to all shows at the Ottawa Family Cinema which provide thousands of hours of much-needed entertainment to families in need throughout our Ottawa community.

Why we do

These shows have a very positive effect on all our lives bringing entertainment, education, fun and a sense of belonging for all our families. Everyone deserves and needs to feel part of the larger community, have the opportunity to get out of the home and enjoy a proper theater experience. It often helps to lift spirits just by getting out of the home environment to see a show. This also helps build new generations of movie-lovers bringing hope, joy and positive messages for a better life in the community. We strongly believe that having a form of good film/stage entertainment to see in a theatre is very important to a person’s health and well-being, helping them lift all our spirits.
